New Heat Pump at Cloncurry Swimming Pool
The cooler weather is here but that is not going to stop us from swimming, thanks to the newly installed heat pump at the Cloncurry Swimming Pool.
The pump was installed on Tuesday and tested out by local children at the Evolution and MMG Pool Party on Wednesday, who enjoyed a comfortable 28-degree swim. The pump is fully automated and will maintain a water temperature of 28 degrees all year round, heating the water in winter and cooling it in summer. This will encourage higher utilisation rates for longer periods, with a particular focus on making the pool more appealing for youngsters completing swimming lessons and for seniors looking for low-impact workouts.
Thanks to the Department of Tourism, Innovation & Sport, who covered 88% of the project costs through their Minor Infrastructure Program.
